🥍 Semiahmoo U15 A2 Boys Face Tough Test at 2025 BC Provincials
The 2025 BC Provincial Lacrosse Championships were a hard-earned destination for the Semiahmoo U15 A2 boys, but the tournament didn’t unfold the way they had hoped.
Over three tough games at Langley Event Centre July 10-13, 2025, Semiahmoo finished with an 0–3 record, falling 7–4, 6–3, and 6–1. Despite the losses, the team showed plenty of grit— especially on the defensive end.
“We knew heading in that this was going to be a big step up,” said Head Coach Chris Seller. “Our defence and goaltending gave us a chance in every game. The guys battled hard in our end.”
While the defence stood tall, the offence had trouble finding its rhythm.
“We just couldn’t capitalize,” Seller said. “We had chances, but at this level, if you don’t bury them, it comes back to bite you. And when we made mistakes, we paid.”
In each matchup, Semiahmoo showed flashes of potential but struggled to sustain pressure or finish key opportunities.
“We’re proud of how we got here. Getting to provincials was a big goal for this group,” said Seller. “But that doesn’t take away from the disappointment of not performing the way we know we can.”
Despite the record, the experience is something the players will carry forward.
“This is all part of the process,” Seller added. “The players now know what this level looks like. And that’s only going to help them down the road.”
As the dust settles, the focus turns to development—and to the future. With a strong defensive core and lessons learned, Semiahmoo will be aiming to come back stronger next season.
“We’ll take the hit, learn from it, and move forward. The goal is always growth,” Seller said.
