Semiahmoo Rock alumnus, Jacob Dunbar (2001) is the Western Lacrosse Association’s Rookie of the Year for the 2023 season!

The Burnaby Lakers traded up to acquire the first overall pick on draft night just so that we could select this Poco Saints graduate. “From his first day in camp, Jacob proved to be an enthusiastic and dedicated teammate as well as a skilled athlete and next level lacrosse player”.

When describing Dunbar’s presence in the organization, GM Kevin Hill notes that having him around has been very refreshing. “He just loves to play and he has a very high lacrosse IQ. He detects any team’s seams and he will not stop until he has found a way to exploit them.”
