Another ROCK season in the books
Hello Semi LAX Families,
Another ROCK lacrosse season is in the books. I’m extremely proud of all our players and coaches who have spent countless hours preparing, practicing and performing to the best of their abilities. We’ve had many new families join our lacrosse association for the first time with kids getting a chance to play the game we all love. With new teams, we’ve had many parents stepping up to help coach, manage, score keep and tend to many of the random bumps and bruises along the way. Thank you to all for giving your time and efforts to help make this season a success.
Two of our teams played deep into the postseason:
Our U-13 A2 Boys team had a great year, topped off with a victory to win the BRONZE MEDAL at provincials last week. The team was coached by Chris Sellers, Jamie Dunse,
The U-22 Junior Girls (merged Semi/N.W. team) with seven of our local girls, won the SILVER MEDAL barely missing out on gold in overtime. The team was coached by Craig Stevenson & Jason Bishop of N.W.

Moving forward, we have a clear vision to grow our registration numbers and to have multiple teams in each division, with a full complement of boys and girls teams. To make this happen, we will need to increase our number of volunteers.
We’re actively looking for people to join the Semiahmoo Lacrosse Executive team. There are several roles coming up that need to be filled. You don’t have to be a hall-of-fame player, come from a storied lacrosse family or be a professional to help out – just basic communication skills, some free time and a genuine commitment to help increase access to minor lacrosse for all kids.
Current positions that need immediate filling are REGISTRAR & TREASURER. We’re also looking for people to join committees including, “Randy Ellis Days” and the Fundraising Committee for capital projects such as new jerseys and a covered lax box. We’re always looking for adult coaches, especially for younger teams! For Box coaching, connect early with me if you are interested in helping out next season.
