Hello Semiahmoo Rock Families,

As our 2021 season comes to a close, I’d like to offer a sincere thank you to everyone who made this season a success. It was so nice to see the kids playing and having fun. After last year’s season was cancelled, a number of people worked hard to get kids back playing lacrosse this year, working within the guidelines of the province and the city. This was not an easy task. I want to especially thank the coaches, the managers, and all of the parents who volunteered their time this season. Thanks as well to parents and families for your understanding and patience as we worked through complicated guidelines and rule changes. I received lots of positive feedback from families regarding their lacrosse experience this season.

Our goal was to get as many kids playing lacrosse as possible, keep our costs down and our fees affordable. I’m really proud to say that we had more players registered this year than before Covid, and our registration fees were the lowest of any other local association.

Plans for next season have already begun. We look forward to a huge kickoff event in the Spring, honouring our former president Randy Ellis who passed away shortly before the pandemic. Randy was a huge part of our community. We’re committed to seeing Randy Ellis Lacrosse Days, twice-postponed, leading the way in 2022. We can hardly wait for next season to begin!

Once again, I’d like to thank all of the people who make community sports possible. Parents, players, volunteers, coaches, managers, members of the executive, referees, schedulers.

All the best. We’ll see you next Spring!

Colin Snyder
President
